A tragic accident shook the Brazilian circuit of motor sports on Sunday (18). In the 6th stage of the Superbike Brazil, at the International Autodrome of Goiania, the Sao Paulo pilot John Carlos Sobreira, little Johnny Thirteen, suffered serious accident and was taken to hospital but did not survive and died at age 32.

In the 6th stage of the Superbike Brazil, at the International Autodrome of Goiania, the Sao Paulo pilot John Carlos Sobreira, little Johnny Thirteen, suffered serious accident and was taken to hospital but did not survive and died at age 32.
The Johnny Thirteen accident happened during the first stage of the dispute in Goiania. He lost control of his bike at turn one, went off the road and suffered severe collision following. He was treated locally and then sent to the hospital.
The racecourse where tragedy struck even bears the name of Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian idol of Formula 1 who died during the race at Imola, Italy, in 1994.
Because of the tragic accident with Johnny Thirteen, the second battery would happen on Sunday was canceled. The next appointment Superbike Brazil is scheduled for November 22 in Londrina, Paraná.

It is with regret that we announce the passing (18/10) pilot that ran in the Superbike Superbike Brazil João Carlos Sobreira, 32, 'Johnny Thirteen' (# 113), Mobil Ituran Racing.
He went straight in Turn 1 after completed two laps, had no reaction and pounded. It was attended by the mobile unit on site and removed to the Emergency Hospital of Goiânia (HUGO), which is next to the race track, but succumbed to his injuries and died.
The organizers of the Superbike Brazil very sorry for this loss.
Pilots, to become aware of the sad news, did a tribute to his friend 'Johnny Thirteen'.
The Superbike Brazil family is in deep mourning, and continues providing all the support and sending power to family and friends.
The second Superbike category of the battery would happen at the end of the program was canceled, proof that this would also points to the 6th stage of the championship at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, in Goiânia (GO).
